This includes studies in the following areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Processes of photosynthetic carbon fixation and sucrose synthesis in leaves (Source)<\/li>\n<li>The regulation of cell-to-cell and long-distance transport of assimilates from the source (leaves) to the sink (roots, tubers, seeds)<\/li>\n<li>The interaction between source and sink tissues and their adaptation to climate change<\/li>\n<li>The conversion of assimilates into storage substances (proteins, starch) in storage organs (sink tissues)<\/li>\n<li>Aspects of synthetic biology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We hope that our investigations will contribute to improving the agricultural properties and climate adaptation of crop plants, in particularSolanum tuberosum and Manihot esculenta (potato and cassava plants).
