International Symposium on Potato Tuber Development and Resistance in Wuhan, China
Last weekend, Sophia and Uwe Sonnewald had the great pleasure of attending the International Symposium on Potato Tuber Development and Resistance in Wuhan, China.
The symposium offered an impressive opportunity to witness the remarkable rise of potato science in China, especially at the Huazhong Agricultural University in the laboratory of Prof. Botao Song. It was also wonderful to reconnect with colleagues from Spain and the Netherlands and to present our own research work.
It is truly fascinating to see what becomes possible when scientific expertise and genuine enthusiasm meet sustained institutional support. China has managed to become one of the global leaders in potato research in only a few years.
Beyond all the scientific impressions, I was especially moved by the warm hospitality and openness of the organizers. A heartfelt thank you to Juan Du, Shenglin Jing, and Botao Song for making this experience so memorable.
